Rick, in his role as ‘facilitator’, is all about stimulating deeper understanding, fresh thinking, and behavioural transformation, so the above quotation could not be any more appropriate. For Rick, it is a privilege to facilitate participants’ behaviour transformation in the two domains of leadership development facilitation and organizational process facilitation, both virtually and in person. And he does this first by establishing a safe learning container which is grounded in trust and respect.
Rick has two mottos that he facilitates by: Trust the Process, and, Be Open to the Outcome. These have served him well!
Leadership Development Facilitation
As a leadership and learning content (or subject matter) expert, Rick partners with clients to customize learning plans and delivers options to fulfil their unique leadership and/or culture/organization development needs. Rick is a seasoned facilitator and approaches learning from a perspective of inquiry. Rick is very much a co-learner with his learning audiences, both honouring and harnessing the unique experience and expertise in the room for the benefit of the whole. Rick shares his expertise through facilitation and teaching that is learner-focused and based on respect, curiosity and a sense of humour.
Organizational Process Facilitation
RETREATS AND MEETINGS
As a seasoned process facilitator, Rick works with clients to ensure that retreats, planning sessions and meetings are expertly run and facilitated. Rick establishes an environment where trust is the foundation and where results are achieved in tandem with nurturing relationships.
As a process facilitator, Rick shares his process expertise by guiding leaders through a variety of structured (or not-so-structured) processes to uncover and address opportunities or ‘sticky’ issues. These processes may include strategic planning, visioning, ideation, action planning, Open Space, etc.
MASTER OF CEREMONIES
Rick has enjoyed serving as ‘MC’ to several association and organization meetings and conferences. Taking time to understand each client’s unique context, Rick engages with audiences using a personal approach, his keen sense of humour, and organizational skills, always keeping the session’s vision and purpose in mind.
Rick engages in organizational process facilitation in virtual, in person or blended formats depending on health and safety protocols.
